Stagehands.de in Las Vegas
During the course of these days we were also in a position to be able to look after the needs of a wonderful production in Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas - including a camera team who flew in as well as one of our own technical foremen. A crew on tour is always a general logistical challenge with visas, entry requirements, flights etc. - and at this point a sincere thank you to the young man from Hotels-in.com, who managed to book for us an original Las Vegas hotel in the Casino style on extremely agreeable terms(there wasn't too much of the pay packet left over after that). Rock 'n' Roll in the hotel and a holiday in Las Vegas - that's the way it should be. more

Stagehands.de - We Rock!
…and not only at festivals like Roskilde and Fusion but all across Europe - and private as well. And that's what we were up to in the last weeks - where Murphy's Rule was once again seen to apply:
It always starts to rain when a trailer with rig is opened up - when it's in service at an event.
Alongside Prague, Rotterdam and Paris, we were also getting down to it in Germany - event technicians in Cologne, riggers in Frankfurt, stagehands in Hamburg and in many other German cities there were plenty of other things on the program.
And by the way: Our crews are as rainproof as Martin's Agua Domes, only the washlight function doesn't work quite so well.
Stagehands.de - we make Rock possible with local crews internationally on site. more

Stagehands proviedes accredited personnel leasing
We hereby announce to the event technology branch that we, Stagehands.de, have since the beginning of this year according to the AÜG been officially accredited as a provider of personnel (who doesn't fondly remember Jupiter, Pete and Bob - three investigators, three stagehands, three event technicians).
Our legal standpoint is as before the providing of services on a self-employed basis in the event and trade fair sector, as applies also to the film production industry - a sector where we are much active.
We see this step as an extending of our range of services already on offer, which among other things will enable us to cover touring and the provision of long-term personnel and crew needs. It also enables us to provide further legal safeguards for our clients, as we are combining the offering of crew services with our new role as provider of personnel and not separating the two services, as is usually the case.
Stagehands.de: Jupiter, Pete and Bob available as stagehands, helpers, riggers and event technicians as required, now also in the provider of personnel.
The appropriate federal stagehand provider of personnel eagle comes, as usual, from Eymajoh. more

Stagehands rocks the Easter bunnies or rather with them...in Paris and around the world
And this among others with our crews, helpers and stagehands in Berlin, Cologne, Hannover, Casablanca (here's looking at you kid) and Helsinki.
Alongside numerous trade fair building up and dismantling, we also supported our own industry's trade fair, the Prolight & Sound, and in the Classics and Culture branch as well as on our own Roadshows we've also been kept busy.
And our booth builders were also hard at work on the Auto-Rai in Amsterdam.
And it's going on internationally in the coming months:
Light technicians in Birmingham, helpers in Paris, stagehands in Frankfurt am Main (that's also pretty international) are on the job for us. more

Stagehands in Frankfurt at Prolight & Sound
The Prolight & Sound in Frankfurt, the international trade fair for event and communication technology, is one of the event industry's biggest events. Once a year the giants of the event scene meet here to present products and services. The Stagehands from Stagehands.de were there in Frankfurt and, under assignment to various national and international clients, took the professional building up and dismantling of event equipment in hand. With stamina, power and technical know-how the booth builders and event technicians applied themselves to the fast and smooth setting up of trade fair stands. With over 800 exhibitors and tens of thousands of trade visitors, the Prolight & Sound is the leading trade fair for the event and event technology sectors - so it goes without saying that the hands and helpers from Stagehands.de just had to be there.
From the banking metropolis to the nation's capital, from trade fair to theatre - it just keeps going with stage technology for event technicians in Berlin. Stagehands in Essen, Dusseldorf and Fankfurt - Handling, Rigging and Loading - there have been and continue to be plenty of assignments. What else is there to report? In the last week a... more

Stagehands.de supports the ECHO awards ceremony
Once a year with the ECHO the most highly sought after music prize in Europe is presented. But to make this possible there's a number of things that need to be taken care of first. The stagehands and helpers from Stagehands.de played their part in this as usual on top form and supported the presenting of the ECHO Awards 2009 with the building up of the event equipment. No, the stagehands and helpers in Berlin didn't have to prove their singing talents, but managed both day and night to put on a strong performance through their skill and technical know-how. The helpers were in Berlin exhibiting their usual joy in their work, and got to take the stage at least while building up the technical equipment on the big stage.
As always the stagehands from Stagehands.de are also hard at work in other places. For example the experienced team of riggers and hands who were there building up and dismantling the event equipment in Olympiapark in Munich. The hands and helpers are sought after throughout Germany and always leave people impressed with their professionalism. Thanks to the worldwide Local Crew Network the Stagehands are at work in Germany, Europe and throughout the world, be it... more

Stagehands on European assignment
Be it from the North to the South, from the East to the West, thanks to the local crews there's no distance too great for the hands and helpers from Stagehands.de. After the expert Stagehands team organised helpers for a roadshow through Switzerland, there followed an assignment for the event technicians in Copenhagen, capital of Denmark. The techies ensured trouble-free technical support for a business meeting in a renowned hotel. The event equipment was set up with the usual competence by the helpers from Stagehands.de.
On short notice the Stagehands received an assignment in Holland. With skill and precise planning the stand builders from Stagehands.de fulfilled their contract and built up the stands as required with their usual joy in their work. Next the far North required the presence of the Hands and Helpers from Stagehands.de - a contract in Finland. A warm welcome: Stagehands in Helsinki.
It's been a long, long time since the event technicians from Stagehands.de thought about taking a holiday. Contracts for helpers in Hamburg and Berlin are already signed. Be it stagehands in Munich, helpers in Berlin or helpers in Switzerland, a great number of assignments await in... more

Stagehands.de / The sport goes on
And it doesn't stop there with the sportiness for the stagehands from Stagehands.de. At the moment the Stagehands team is in Neumunster on assignment with the VR Classics 2009. The international horse riding tournament offers a diverse program, with prize money of 200,000 Euros being given for the best jump. Whether this incentive is big enough for the Stagehands to climb onto a horse themselves is questionable, but the professional support provided by our team is a much better bet.
Preparations are cracking ahead and even the upcoming snow presents no great hurdle for the Stagehands. The "hotel room" for the horses stands ready and at the Holstenhalle Neumunster the event technicians are assiduously at work preparing an unforgettable atmosphere for the audience, the horses and the riders. For the helpers and stagehands of Stagehands.de it's definitely an experience. And the Stagehands were also diligently at work even further south. The helpers and event technicians were present at the congress of a well-known telecommunications concern in Düsseldorf building and dismantling the technical event equipment. And as usual there's also a whole lot more going on, with the Stagehands... more

Stagehands / Sporty, fit and full of energy
A race like no other. In keeping with tradition, the Six Day Race is being held at the moment in Berlin. Already in 1909 the mega endurance event was pulling national and international cycling pros in. The stagehands from Stagehands.de were there sportily building up and dismantling the equipment in the event hall, displaying an impressive level of fitness and loads of energy, and cutting a good figure even if they weren't in a saddle. For the Hands there weren't any places on the podium but they could still take pleasure in their work and a successful event.
And the fitness and sportiness don't stop there. The hands and helpers from Stagehands.de were also there to help prepare the UEFA National Trainer Conference 2009 in Paris. A definite plus for the Stagehands team: A crew leader who could speak just as good German as French. In other words, very good communication and coordination on site brought the Stagehands well up to speed.
And it wasn't just sporting actions that dictated the work schedule of the Stagehands in the last week. There's also the support of the roadshow which has just begun in Cologne, and which is also to be presented in Heilbronn and Nuremberg, the... more

Stagehands rocking in Duisberg
Although summer is more the time for big concerts and music festivals, there are still plenty of music events going on in Germany at the moment. Every good event depends of course on technical know-how and organisation. Thus the guys from Stagehands.de are once more hard at work across the entire country, building and dismantling event equipment.
The event technicians were busy this week in the Duisberg landscape park supporting a concert and were also there to lend their professionalism to the cause in the Rhein-Main-Hallen Wiesbaden. South and West Germany is a favourite workplace for the Stagehands team. The entire week our loaders and riggers were building and dismantling at a trade fair in Munich. The stagehands and techies always show their best side, and they were doing this once more at a concert in Munich and in service of another trade fair in Frankfurt am Main.
For a crew of stagehands and loaders from Stagehands January brought to an end to a successful roadshow that had travelled all across Germany, in which the future highlights of a big cosmetics label were presented. The tour stopped in Hamburg, Stuttgart and Munich, among others. And we're already looking... more

Stagehands in carnival stronghold Mainz
With the fourth part of the year still very much under way, already the fifth, the 2009 carnival season, is already being heralded. And so on the occasion of a carnival event in a Mainz arena the stagehands from Stagehands.de were hard at work lending their help to the building up and dismantling of event equipment and so giving energetic support to the first Shrove Tuesday events of the year.
And it was not only in Mainz that the hands and their helpers had plenty to do. On assignment to a client of many years' standing the stagehands were once more at work together with the regular Munich crew at the Munich trade fair. Building up of trade fairs and more, for the competent stagehands and event technicians it's long been routine. At the moment on the trade fair grounds in Leipzig an international congress is taking place which the hands from Stagehands.de helped to build up with their usual professionalism. Further assignments for our stagehands were also going on in the last weeks in Stuttgart, Berlin and Hamburg, among others.
From East to West, from North to South, the Stagehands are active in just about every large German city. Stagehands in Mainz for Shrove Tuesday,... more

Stagehands at the London Car Show
The Christmas season, time of reflection, is over. Revival and a renewed zest for life is in the air - Welcome to 2009! The Stagehands and Event technicians are feeling it too, and are once more hard at work at events in Germany, Europe and around the world.
Shortly before the ringing in of the New Year an impressive car show in London was pulling the people in. The Stagehands were on the scene and helped to build up and dismantle the show with their usual professionalism. A little further east in a Berlin theatre a famous poet's masterpieces were being performed. The lighting technicians and stagehands from Stagehands.de took care of the technical preparation and wrapping up of the event, leaving behind a happy audience.
The New Year is kicking smartly into gear for the stagehands and helpers from Stagehands.de. Already assignments are being planned for the stagehands and event technicians across the whole of Europe. Stagehands in London, lighting technicians in Berlin, event technicians in Paris and loaders and riggers on tour across Europe. Every event - no matter whether theatre, car show, trade fair or concert - is once again in 2009 in the best of hands with our... more

Stagehands in Disneyland Paris
After last week's look back over the year's assignment highlights for our stagehands, riggers, technicians and Co for 2008, here for the end of the year is a look at the most current events where the bold Stagehands were, are and will be at work.
Especially exciting was the assignment for the event technicians from Stagehands.de in Disneyland Paris, where they provided reliable support for an event organised by a well-known music label. From West to East: The stagehands and stand builders were kept busy for a whole week in the O2 Arena in Prague, which was finished in March 2004 and is mainly used for ice sport and ice figure skating events. In order that the upcoming athletic events may take place in the O2 Arena the stagehands were put to work constructing huge platforms. The hands and stagehands are also happy to represent us at media productions, and in this respect light and sound technicians were at work in the last weeks on the film set in the Berlin-Adlershof Media Park. In Goch the stagehands will also soon be at work at a New Year's Eve Run, where jogging enthusiasts can jog into a healthy New Year. Stagehands 208 - The Highlights!
The year is just about over - a good time for a look back over the Stagehands year 2008, and the world of stagehands, loaders, riggers, techies and co! We were at work in many countries and on many continents, Stagehands 2008 in Europe, Asia, America and Africa.
Already at the beginning of the year we won a big contract, with a 50 person team of stagehands and forklift operators working for 3 weeks for an American automobile manufacturer at the Cologne trade fair. At the same time two large international sporting events were happy to have us there. One of these was the UEFA EM'08, where the Stagehands lent an energetic hand in all the major cities of Switzerland and Austria, and the Olympic Summer Games in Beijing 2008, where our event technicians and hands were assiduously at work. And our stagehands were there helping out at the Formula One race on the Hockenheimring.
The Comedy King Mario Barth set a world record in the summer of 2008 when he filled the entire Olympic Stadium in Berlin. Our stagehands and event technicians were there to give their professional support. Also not forgetting the Kurt Krömer Roadshow that we were permitted to accompany for some months. Across... more

Stagehands with Greece-on-Tour in Dusseldorf, Stuttgart and Frankfurt
The team from Stagehands.de supported Greece-on-Tour. Last weekend the popular Greek singer Nikos Vertis toured Germany together with his musical compatriots Grigoris Petrakos, Maria Ioannidou and Savvina Lois & Bands and stopped in Dusseldorf, Stuttgart and Frankfurt. In a show of over three hours a total of 25 musicians gave a top rank performance of Greek music. Because such a large event can't take place without technical support the hard-working stagehands from Stagehands.de were there with a big team at each and every event. By the way, we got the contract one day before the first event. Accepted on the spur of the moment, professional stagehands in Dusseldorf, loaders in Stuttgart and event technicians in Frankfurt were immediately organised so that the shows could go ahead under A1 conditions!
On St. Nicholas Day the Stagehands didn't put their feet up but were instead diligently at work. Thus the Hands were there to support a film set in the Berliner Ullstein Hall and - suitably - event technicians were taking care of the building up and dismantling of the technical equipment at a Christmas concert in Grimma. To get a perspective on 2009 it's worth mentioning here the... more

Stagehands in Cologne make children's eyes light up!
Punctually at the pre-Christmastime our industrious stagehands, techies and co. are busy helping in the building up and dismantling of the event technical equipment for a children's concert in the Cologne theatre. The little guests most definitely had a good time. And in regards to Cologne, it seems that there's been a great demand for Hands just recently.
Also exciting was the contract for our stagehands and event technicians in the Berliner Admiralpalast. Here a camera crane needed to be mounted and correctly positioned so as to provide the ideal perspective for a concert of Klaus Hoffmann & Band.
A further highlight of the last week was the work undertaken by our stagehands on the Porto Airport, where the Stagehands helped in the building and dismantling of a car showcase. In regards to this things are also looking exciting for the future, as at the event there were requests regarding our Hands in the UK and Australia, event technicians in Dubai and Morocco, loaders in Bulgaria, Turkey and in Russia. Info about this and relevant points are as always to be found on Stagehands.de!

Viva Italia! Stagehands at the trade fair in Bologna
"Hallo boys" - or something like that - is what the extremely spirited Italian women thought when the industrious stagehands from Stagehands.de turned up last week at the international Motorshow 2008 in Italian Bologna. Here the stagehands were energetically at work, responsible as they were for the building up and dismantling of the trade fair equipment.
The deployment of our techies in Bologna was only one highlight of the week, as there was also a lot going in our equally beautiful - if slightly colder - Germany. Winter is not only Christmastime, it's also trade fair time. Thus there was the Medica in Düsseldorf, where the stagehands, loaders and construction helpers from Stagehands.de were to be found in action.
The Medica is the world forum for medicine and technology. So, thankfully our stagehands didn't need to test any fever thermometers. Also in South Germany our Stagehands team was hard at it. A contract in the German Museum in Munich brought our stagehands one step closer to Germany history - working and simultaneously learning something, a great thing.
The next jobs for our Stagehands team are also already fixed. Loaders in Stuttgart, riggers in Ulm, standhands... more

Kölle Alaf! Stagehands feel at home in Cologne
Last week in the Jecken-Hochburg am Rhein the carnival season was welcomed in with much hoopla. But don't worry, our stagehands don't have to come to work in colourful costumes. Indeed our event technicians and helpers were on the job a lot during the last week at the Cologne trade fair. Here there was to be found the eat'n STYLE (good catering?) and the baby trade fair (pink and light blue furry teddy bears?), where our stagehands, techies and hands all had a lot to do.
However also in other corners of Germany there was much screwing, loading and cabling. For example our loaders in Munich, stagehands in Hannover, event technicians at the trade fair in Düsseldorf and helpers in the Kanzler Quarter in Berlin were out and about.
As a special highlight our stagehands are at work in beautiful, Italian Bologna, where according to the weather report the sun is shining now and then at the moment. And regarding the food down there, there are definitely reasons to be jealous! We'll let you know of course how it all went…
Without a doubt there's a whole lot of technical event work again going on again in Germany, Europe and the whole world. The industrious hands of our stagehands,... more

Stage hands in Cologne at the World Cyber Games - Set bulding instead of gaming
Last weekend the finale of the biggest e-sport tournament of the world was held in the Cologne trade fair hall: the World Cyber Games (WCG) - a Cyber Game Festival, which sets the standard worldwide for bringing gamers together. Our stagehands, sound technicians, riggers and techies were also there among the gaming crowd. They were not however there for gaming, but for the building and dismantling of the stages, trade stands, LAN etc. for national and international clients.
As well as Cologne we are currently on the job in Babelsberg (film production = good catering, "extremely awake" directors and the best rigging parties ever), as well as elsewhere.
And as one could say that Babelsberg belongs to the greater Berlin area, we'd like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to our stand builders in Berlin, who gave us such excellent support with this production: stand builders and set builders - we got the best feedback. Many thanks!
Also the local and international crews, event technicians and stagehands in Frankfurt am Main (I award the aiport international territory status, since the security checks here are stricter than when entering the USA), riggers in... more

Event technicians are from Mars – Stagehands are from Venus
…meaning that our crews with exhibition builders, forklift operators and lighting technicians were also there at Germany’s largest and most “interesting” exhibition in Berlin.
A few other things were going on outside the exhibition grounds too. Stagehands in Barcelona, event technicians in Rome, riggers in Frankfurt Main (Frankfurt Exhibition Centre of course) plus hands in Amsterdam and Zürich all in full out action.
There will also soon be some revolutionary changes to the administration here: We are fundamentally revising our web presence and by 01.01.2009 at the latest there will be additional interesting functions that are sure to be of interest to rental companies, stagehands and techies. "Everythings good on the inside": Stagehands at the SPOGA-Horse in Cologne
„Draußen ist alles drin“ („Everything for outside is inside“) – this was the slogan for the SPOGA-Horse which took place in Cologne at the end of August. Our highly qualified stagehands were there to support the event. As a part of the SPOGA – the largest industry exhibition for sporting goods, camping supplies and garden furniture – the SPOGA-Horse presented the latest from the world of equestrian sports and a professional Stagehands.de crew was there to assist. Our stagehands worked under the motto “Everything is good inside” and with their expertise in set-up, dismantling, lighting, sound and security made sure that exhibitors, visitors and enthusiast alike experienced a perfect performance. Some of the more important jobs were laying professional flooring, calibrating the sound system and general set-up and dismantling of the various stands and displays. Stagehands.de in Berlin’s Olympic stadium
The professional stagehands.de team presented themselves in a record-breaking fashion whilst working in Berlin’s Olympic stadium on 12th July 2008 by creating the perfect platform in advance. A week before the actual event nine trucks loaded with 110 flooring tiles in total moved into the Olympic stadium where 8200 square metres of football pitch was to be transformed into a concert hall. The occasion: the biggest comedy show on earth with an extraordinary premiere. Mario Barth, the jokster and bard presented “Men are primitive, but happy!“, a set which had already filled the biggest halls in the country, and reached its highest point up to date in Berlin in front of a sold out house of 70.000.
10 to 24 PAXs were needed every day to manage this gigantic task and to build strong flooring. This was real blood, sweat and tears work for the professional stagehands. They were on site and in action every day for a whole week and the results show it was worth all the effort. The work was completed on time and to the great satisfaction of all involved.. Stagehands.de and Football - A Summer Fairy Tale
It was a second „Summer Fairy Tale“ and a very special highlight for us and our crews. The European Football Championships (Euro 08). Our team managed a close second place and brought home the silver to hundreds of thousands of adoring fans who greeted them at the Brandenburg Gate. And it was a success for us as well. With a local crew on location to set up and dismantle the lighting and sound, we were able to experience the Euro 08 up close. Special stage constructors also made sure that “public viewing” was a unique experience and that the floor remained under the feet of the many fans.
Professional stagehands – also provided by us – took care of the set-up and dismantling of the lighting, sound and video equipment in and around Vienna and Basel. But the broadcast professionals were not the ones responsible for the interruption during the semi-final game between Germany and Turkey that left the world holding its breath. A heavy storm with strong winds was the actual cause of the blackout which left the broadcast centre in Vienna without power for a while. This was the central broadcast centre for all of the other stations showing the game – or not, in this case ;-) But... more

Yoursharemakesadifference
Here is some news about something very important – Stagehands.de tries hard to keep all of its productions as environmentally-friendly as possible: local crew = no travel = no emissions. “Your share makes a difference” is also the motto of our companion nature protection program in the USA.
Every small effort to protect the environment counts, according to the makers of the website Ysmad.com. This stands for “Your Share Makes A Difference”. And the name says it all – the website attempts to dispel the myth that individual consumers can do little to help protect the environment. The site offers lots of practical tips on how to be more environmentally friendly in your everyday life. It also includes a blog which comments on environmental and climate politics and has additional information on extinction rates, greenhouse effects and much more. Stagehands in Athens, Techies in Berlin, Riggers in Peking
Athens, we are coming! And as often as possible if we have it our way. Our stagehands in Greece, consisting of crew captains flown in from Germany and the rest of the team assembled locally, are more than happy to oblige when the offers keep coming in for projects there - now that we have found some decent hotels ;-).
Our stagehands and event technicians were also busy in Berlin at some large productions and at the exhibition centres in Cologne, Munich and Hannover.
Somewhat new – and very welcome - is the growing demand for crew for roadshows and tours. Other countries, other lobbies….
Last but not least, our new Veranstaltungstechniker.de website is seeing rapidly increased activity, thanks to those of you who have visited and given us feedback and suggestions for improvement.

Event Technicians in Shanghai and Riggers in Peking
So, it’s been a while since the last news entry. Daily business is rockin’ (and so does Veranstaltungstechiker.de – our new Web 2.0 puppy…ok, more like a junk-yard dog in the making).
Now on to the “really important” things: Our newsletter system is up and running and anyone who likes can register to be kept up to speed on the latest happenings in our little Stagehands.de world.
As far as daily business goes, we had lots of action in the Far East with event technicians in Shanghai and Riggers in Peking (as usual, all locals) and the Olympics are just around the corner. We were also busy with some other foreign productions a bit closer to home in the Slovenian capital Ljubljana (try saying that one quickly after 3 pints of Guiness), in London (at the Excel that we know and love) and in Moscow.
Back at home we had a lot going on in Berlin, Frankfurt Main (no, not just the exhibition!), Cologne (more or less around the clock), Munich, Stuttgart, and of course Hamburg (and every other city it seems).
Summary: High season has begun and we are looking forward to the next events (both big and small) with you.

And what is going on back at the office? Quite a bit – we had crew on assignment at the Geneva Motor Salon, at several productions in Shanghai and Peking, and were kept busy with the usual production business in Germany and elsewhere in Europe.
One project, however, deserves special recognition and that would be the beach promenade (including beach!) that our stage-hands in Mannheim created. more

Stagehands.de | Fast on their feet
Drums, fiddles, penny whistles, and a lot of feet - that isRiverdance. Scaffolding, cables, forklifts, and a lot of hands - that is Stagehands.de. Whoever thinks that combining these two could only lead to a whole lot of confusion is sadly mistaken and our production in Freiburg at the end of January is perfect evidence.
In the most southerly city in Germany we supported the entire show with stage-hands, catering, wardrobe assistants, hostesses, and ushers as well as forklift operators, runners, and cooks. Stagehands.de was in full force.
Location: Rothaus Arena. The 4800m2 arena in Freiburg was the place where it all happened during three days in January. One of the three Riverdance troupes enchanted audiences with a lively program consisting of Irish step-dancing, where the upper body is kept rigid and motionless while the feet move at a furious pace.
But before the festivities could begin there was a lot to prepare. Working closely with the tour management and the staff at the Rothaus Arena, we took on the planning and organization for all backstage personnel. In addition to that we were responsible for... more

Stagehands.de | She's leaving home...to load out some trussing!
It's never easy when the little ones learn to fly and take off on their own adventures. So even though it was only for a few days, it was still hard for us to say goodbye to Susan, the youngest member of our office team. But everyone must learn to let go at some point.
Our new event technician went to Brussels, where the EU has its headquarters, where NATO has its headquarters and where you can find french fries (or "chips" for our friends in the UK) and waffles everywhere. The Motor Show took place for the 86th time in the Belgian capital city. Along with the latest offerings from the automobile industry, the focal point of this year's Autosalon was the environmentally-friendly technology.
Susan traded in her pen for a ratchet and supported the rest of the team on assignment for the load out of one of the stands at the Expo grounds. Like the rest of the stagehands, she dismantled the lighting and sound equipment, pulled cable and loaded the trussing.
After all of the lighting fixtures, monitors and speakers were in the trucks, Susan hit the road home and arrived back at our offices in Berlin safe and sound. But it seems that she has developed a bit of wanderlust so she's... more

Stagehands.de | Let’s swim to Belgium
In the world famous city of Gent (as we all know, the capital of the Belgian province East Flanders ;-) the “Polyclose” took place for the 13th time. The exhibition is for doors, windows and facades.
The largest exhibition of its kind in the Benelux states, it took place in the middle of January and provided lots of fantastic offerings from the world of architecture and façade construction. Our helpers were there on assignment to support one of the exhibitors. Whether lighting, cables or trussing, our Stagehands handled every challenge.
On the night of the load out a burst water pipe flooded the exhibition area but our helpers were lucky – the stand they were working on was about 10cm higher than the water level. Stagehands.de: high and dry!
The Belgian exhibition which draws visitors mostly from the Benelux states takes place every two years. It has grown each time with more visitors and more exhibitors. more

Stagehands.de | On the rocks
High temperatures of 0°C, ice and snow and on top of all that, ice hockey. It doesn’t get any colder than that. The Sprengler Cup took place for the 81st time between Christmas and New Year’s in Davos, the highest-altitude city in Europe.
While Russia’s defence man Oleg Twerdowski got several teeth knocked out and Canada wrapped up the final in four minutes, our stagehands were there to help with the set up and load out for the interior of the “Eisdom” (Ice Dome), a two-storey tent which offered seating for 1000 VIP guests. Our helpers were responsible for laying the carpet and arranging the tables and chairs.
Under sunny skies but with harsh temperatures of -10°C, our crew – for fear of becoming like the famous ice man “Ötzie”- gave up on the idea of environmental-friendliness and enjoyed their breaks and meals in the crew buses with running motors for heating.
With a budget of approximately 8.5 million Swiss francs, the international ice hockey tournament is the second largest sporting event in Switzerland and reaches more than 80,000 viewers in five countries during the six days.
Little wonder that the cold didn’t affect Team Canada which walked away with the cup... more

Rock 'n Roll in Geneva
Happy New Year! As usual, even on New Year’s Eve we were in action at numerous productions, among others at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, in Munich, London, Zurich, and at the top of the “Zugspitze” – frozen truss seems to hold longer. The Auto & Motor Show 2008 is also in the works and our crews will soon be on their way to Geneva (or, for some of them, are already there – Aloa Switzerländli).

We wish you a Merry Christmas
Dear colleagues, business partners and friends,
Thank you for your support and cooperation even during some stressful and turbulent times and productions.
We wish all of you a happy and peaceful holiday season and a good start in the coming year 2008 – we are looking forward to lots of new projects, ideas and continuous feedback (from which we learn and grow) in the new year.
From Berlin: Stagehands.de
P.S. Here is a picture of our Christmas party – last year in MIR, this year in Bar-Celona (tasty cuisine – highly recommended). Due to numerous requests from the restaurant owners, we seldom celebrate in the same place twice ;-) more

Vrolijk kerstfeest!
…whatever that’s supposed to mean?! As usual, our Stagehands were on assignment during Advent for rental companies, event agencies and exhibition builders. Amsterdam – a very nice production (we say THANKS!) – Brussels and Paris (with local crew on location for each) to name only a few. In December we were kept busy with the Detroit Motor Show (set-up), numerous productions in Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Berlin, Cologne and Hannover.
New in 2008: Our intern Vicky will stay on full-time as part of our office team. more

Stagehands.de loves John
Today we would like to introduce a very special man - without him we would have much less fun and a lot more work for our planning and production management.
Stagehands.de very proudly presents:
JOHN.
Since the founding of the company, John has been there to program useful tools, to automate various procedures and has developed numerous web platforms (e.g. Productionnews.com) and has kept our LAN running.
John, we love you!
P.S. John is officially managed by Xena – Master of Fire and can be reached at the email address of the same name and the extension number 27 (to answer all of our questions). more

Stagehands Exhibiton Builders in Bologna, Italy
Stagehands.de | And where's the pasta!?
n.b. – to write about Bologna without thinking about „Bolognese“ or the famous sandwich meat and creating some kind of wordplay in the headline is difficult…but we’ll try our best!
Our Stagehands and Lighting Technicians were too busy working at the Bologna Motor Show to think about pasta. On assignment for several companies, they were there to help set up and tear down the stages used for the event. The 32nd annual auto exhibition offered excellent presentation designs and lighting as well as the innovations from the auto industry. 92 new products were displayed, including the brand new Hummer which made its debut performance in Bologna.
Italian sunshine, beautiful women and mortadella – hopefully our Stagehands won’t stay in the picturesque university town too long. After all, there is a lot more work waiting for them here!
Our opinion: Home is the best place to be! (We have mortadella here too!) more

Stagehands on Tour - Helpers in Berlin and Athens - Exhibition Builders in Bologna
We have been pretty busy for the past 8 weeks – therefore the temporary neglect of our internet presence. To make up for it, we have a lengthy report summarizing our recent activities.
Whether national or international, two-day trade fairs or two-week road shows, our stagehands were on assignment over the past two months with their individual skills and abilities to help our clients toward success.
In October we had local crews at exhibitions in London, Paris, Madrid, Zurich, Nitra (Slovakia), Amsterdam and Bucharest which included stagehands, stand builders and riggers. Local and travelling stagehands successfully cooperated with our German, English, American and Chinese partners on industry events in Athens, Sintra (Portugal) and Rome.
Our stagehands were also there for the SPD Party Day. In Hamburg they helped with the setup and dismantling of the stage on which the politicians shared their ideas for a more peaceful world – and the results are clear to see…
Other highlights were the two road-shows which took our hard-working crew through Germany. In one month they were on assignment each weekend in a different city for the “VW Tiguan Night Race”. At exclusive... more

Stagehands.de on a Mission
Until Sept. 16th our Stagehands - accompanied by our charming Hostesses - are underway in eleven German cities. We have been contracted to support the German Tour of “Menschen für Menschen”(People for People), an aid organization founded by the actor Karlheinz Böhm. If you automatically just thought of Kaiser Franz in the “Sissi” films with Romy Schneider you are exactly right and can admit it (we promise we won’t tell anyone!). Karlheinz Böhm and his organization have been actively campaigning for Ethiopia for years now and this year's tour should generate enough donations to build a new secondary school in central Ethiopia.
“For Ethiopia” was made visible by the work of Austrian photographer Peter Rigaud and audible by unusual musical guests. Here are the tour dates in case you are in the area:
5. September 2007: Stagehands in Mannheim, Marktplatz, Musik: Siyou
7. September 2007: Stagehands in Wiesbaden, Dernsches Gelände, Musik: Siyou

Stagehands.de – „Island Feeling“ with five stars
Yes, it was almost like a holiday. The Stagehands.de crew were on assignment on the North Sea island. On the first weekend in August they supported the setup of the Entertainment Areas for the German Polo Masters 2007. A 600sqm VIP Tent in which the guests could enjoy watching the polo on big screens while enjoying exclusive catering was part of this setup. During the German Polo Masters, eight teams compete for the Gold Cup provided by the main sponsor Sal. Oppenheim. Even here it is like real life…only one can win.
The Stagehands didn’t need to worry about the dress code. Even the guests were care-free when it came to the attire: from leather boots to flip flops and Gucci to jeans, according to the event organizer everything is allowed.
Flying chunks of turf, snorting horses, sun, sand and sea; luckily all of the Stagehands came back! Which is a good thing considering all of the assignments waiting for them here… more

Our crew captain Mischa was there live and has "(Ge)sehen, was morgen bewegt" ("see(n) what moves tomorrow", this years' slogan of the biggest automobile exhibition in the world).

Stage hands in Munich
Our hardened Stagehands also have a taste for luxury!...As was recently proven at a rental job for Lexus, who were sending their new Lexus LS- 600h from the automobile show in Leipzig to Berlin. Our Stagehands prepared the Lexus at three different locations: the Tegel Airport, the Hotel de Rome, and the Roman Courts; a fitting reception! Even if the boys were chiefly responsible for the tough work, there was no lack of intense personal employment (see photo), and nonetheless a little luxury was still in the air. In addition to our multiple current jobs around the world, and the GQ Style Night in Munich (no our Stagehands did not strip :), we are happy to be back at the start in the capitol city (Berlin you are so wonderful!!). Stagehands in Vienna – an occurrence we're always happy to repeat - are now working at the start on a rental job for Epson Production. Simultaneously, we’ve had a lot to do in Germany/Europe and in China, and from that our Stagehands have been especially active in Frankfurt am Main, Berlin, Hamburg, Madrid, and Shanghai. more

2. St. Petersburg has at its disposal a wonderful Philharmonic Orchestra – without loading paths: But our Russian Stagehands were really warmed up after three stage trailers, and with great enjoyment assembled the last heartfelt 12,000 sqm.

Stagehands in Paris
Stagehands.de and the opening of the Monumenta in the Parisian "Grand Palais".
The opening of the Monumenta in the Parisian "Grand Palais" on May 31st 2007 signals a new major event for contemporary art. This is a world class premiere with the Stagehands.de team in Berlin guiding our team of exceptionally motivated and highly qualified helpers in Paris. Through this exhibition individual artists are given the opportunity to take advantage of the monumental scale of the Grand Palais, which was originally built for the 1900 Exposition Universelle, and put their creativity to the test. Our sixteen man crew was similarly challenged and stimulated in their preparations of the gigantic space.
The internationally known German artist Anselm Kiefer will open the exhibition and our stagehands created the optimal foundation for his opening.
A week of priming, painting and decorating created the ideal setting for Anselm’s site specific works in the palace.
The exhibition is a confrontation between plastic and architecture, and the helpers of Stagehands.de sought to honour this principle in their prep work as well. The Monumenta represents the collaboration between an important artist and... more

That was our setup of the international auto show in Swiss Geneva. Of course our inclination toward structures does not only apply for automobile fairs, we were also at the Cebit, in the museums of the capital city, at the London Excel & NEC, and in Valencia our crews have been more than active. Advent, Advent stagehand...now who would think badly of that? Of course we have grade A pyro-technicians to take care of the special effects etc. At this year's Pyronale 2006 for instance. More about the most recent projects will be included in the next news update. Here, however, are a few infrastructural announcements:
1. We are growing - and as a result need more room, which we've found in 120 sq. meters on the other side of the street. Unfortunately, the space had been empty for a while and we are now busy renovating. Here's a picture of Asbesto-Mike.
2. Good bye Delia - our year-long booking agent has left us for South America for one year to protect animals and ceramic stove tops (from herself regarding the latter - inside joke).

2. Daniel, our TL, discovered the Acropolis and his addiction to crowds during the recent production in Athens (late September for a large Sporting brand and a premium rental in Berlin) and therefore, beginning mid-October until further notice, will be busy with the establishment of our office in Beijing... yeah, you have to think back a bit and even then the connection is still a bit fuzzy - just call us.
3. Our Stagehands have been active for agency and rental projects in Warsaw, Athens, London, Zurich, Barcelona, Istanbul, Berlin, Hannover (IAA), Cologne, Munich (and many other European venues) for trade fairs, events and circuses over the past four weeks - more information coming soon.

Stagehands in Berlin (at Afrika Afrika) as Helpers for Tent Building
Nirgendwo in Afrika (Nowhere in Africa), but for all that somewhere in Berlin - to be more exact next to the new central train station - we supported Afrika Afrika with assembly and maintenance of their show.

Stagehands.de makes the Eagles concert possible and the Autosalon in Madrid, Spain
It's been a loooong time since our last entry - the whole thing in a nutshell:
So far well over 20,000 work hours for FIFA, Adidas, Nike and Co., "zu Gast bei Freunden" (enjoying the hospitality of friends) - Stagehands.de the cooks in the kitchen.
Together with Hostesses.de, we were able to take part in some VIP-Shuttling. Attached, a picture of Mickey.
Mickey ist our newest purchase (in keeping with the soccer jargon) and will be supporting Christophe as crew captain.
Additional productions in the last three weeks:
PublicViewing buildup and takedown in all WM cities, Optatec FFM, BimaTec, Chinese National Circus, Eagles (yeah Rock'n Roll), Auto salon Madrid, ICT Bangkok - just to name the big ones - etc.
P.S. we should also mention our continuosly overstressed Radio-planning Manager, Oliver- we've expanded our rental park and after the WM can definitely cover every type of large and super-large event. more

Stagehands in Stuttgart (Bravo Super Show)
May is all about newness. April brought us many new jobs such as the Bravo Super Show, numerous FIFA Pre-Events, Autosalon Lisbon etc.
So, the new things:
1. New to the crew is Sarah with the rather-hard-to-pronounce last name Piorkowsky. Sarah, in the meantime full-blooded VA-sales woman, in her former life was among other things a violinist with the Philharmonic and diving instructor in Egypt. Back above water, welcome on board!
P.S: The first visual teaser, pictured here - in the middle, Sarah at the team grill party last Sunday. The rest were more than actively playing Volleyball, after the first round of Alsters;-)
2. After a good talking to, six months later Telekom has decided to install our connection - we are immediately available at the following numbers:

Stagehands in Switzerland: In Genf at the Autosalon
So because it was so pretty, another photo from the disassembly in Geneva.
We did an estimate and have come to the following amazing results:
- 16.700m load multi-core pulled,
- over 20.000m protected plug cable blocked,
- 6000 MACs/PARs/ARRIs/FLOODLIGHTs etc. assembled and disassembled,
- 8000m cross-beam supplied,
- über 100 LKWs loaded and unloaded,
- über 1000l coffees consumed,
- über 100.000km covered.

Stagehands in Genf and in Munich
During the last 3 weeks, our Stagehands have mostly been in Geneva (Autosalon), Hannover (Cebit) and Turin (disassembling various Olympia-Events...all without doping- except for the "MännerKaffee").
Additionally on the project list (just to name a few more well-known ones): Echo-Verleihung Berlin (Danke Thorsten!), Liza Minelli (Danke Franky!!) Roadshows for Insurance and Pay TV, Paris Exhibition, Amsterdam Exhibition, Vienna Exhibition, African and Canadian national circus, - and naturally the WOK WM (second year). We are still in high season, therefore only a very short news entry. More detailed entries beginning mid-April.
;-) but nevertheless another beautiful photograph from Switzerland. It'll take time for the double steady-shot protection to come out, but it really was cold. more

Walkie-talkies for Rent
O.K. what's going on - at the moment we are in high season and going new distances in order to properly arrange and realize everything.
We are currently very active in Geneva and Cologne, Alice Cooper can be found rocking, or rather being rocked by us, Tschibo (coffee can rock too) and the brand-spanning Swiss auto salon. Stagehands in Geneva are always a delight to see, ever since we became friends with the hotel establishments there.
Now, on to the topic of being highly intellectual ;) Naturally, we support enterprises such as the Berlin Debatierwettbewerb (debate competition) with our radio equipment. An area that thanks to our agent Oliver Hertkorn, is continually growing and will shortly be developed into an independent project - powered of course by Stagehands.de.
Of course we don't want to forget NIKE Berlin and to wish "Goed dat juj er bent"
once again to the Amsterdam agency - and thank ourselves for the contract, the nice atmosphere and delicious catering. more

Stagehands in Turin Italy
Turin is aglow? (see headline article in the Berliner Zeitung) - we're saying to ourselves: at least it's not burning, because we were there with several local crews and our regular crew members. Stagehands in Turin. Let the Hands begin - Viva Italia!
Our Italian locals are very noteworthy by the way; they can attach the cross-beam sprinkler net at a high work level with no problem (which also can be of advantage) and are just simply smart. more

Stagehands in Brussels, Vilamoura, Portugal, and Düsseldorf, Germany
Recently, there hasn’t been enough time to update this section – partly due to the season’s demands.
During the last four weeks our stagehands were busy in the following places – among many others:
- Brussels (car fair)
- Vilamoura / Portugal (Well i thought i’d be relaxing in the sun for 10 days. The sun was there but then the trucks started arriving…)
A big thumbs up for the local crew!
- Several trade fairs in Cologne, Düsseldorf, Munich and Berlin
- Turin (rich in snow and ice)
- Geneva (another car fair)
Which reminds me of Detroit and our new friends from the local union = stagehands.de FREE TO WORK
Pictures especially from Vilamoura - where it was really enjoyable to work – will be put online in a couple of days.
Live on stage
